INDIANS MUST UNITE / HAVE TO UNITE
------------
I think there is certain confusion on who Hindraf is, and who their
leaders are.
From what I gather and read so far, the leaders of Hindraf are human
rights lawyers. They are folks who are fighting for the rights of
Hindu's.
MIC is still the political body that represents INDIANS, in the
political corridor of Malaysia.
Thus, supporting Hindraf does not MEAN you are not supporting MIC or
vice versa.
Our problem is that MIC is corrupt, and nepotistic. This includes
our honorable Samy Vellu and Subramaniam. I am not sure who is
worst. Anyone who wants to argue this, don't bother as I have
experienced it personally from them.
What Hindraf has done is bring to light, bring out into the open, the
plight of Indian Hindu's in Malaysia. From what I have read so far
of the Malaysian constitution and law, Hindraf cannot represent
Indians in elections nor can they take their plight to the
parliment. Hindraf is a group that represents one religious group of
Indians in Malaysia. They represent people of Hindu background,
defending their rights to worship freely, defending their temples,
defending their rights to convert back to Hinduism if they had
converted to Islam.
I think young people on this group are on the right path. I hear
discussions of Tamil groups and so on. I urge the young folks here
to continue talking, discussing, as these kind of discussion is what
will take us to the next step.
The goal should be the following:
1. Support the people who are in jail, as they have not done
anything wrong.
2. Kick this movement up a notch. Start changing from a HIndraf
movement to a Indian movement. Bring in all the other groups, as
they suffer to from this UMNO govt.
3. Make no mistake, you are not fighting the Malaysian govt. You
are fighting UMNO and the Islamic movement. Anyone wants
clarification, just go ask Joseph Pairin Katingan in Sabah. They
tricked PBS into giving up power, and once they were in power they
changed Sabah constitution.
4. BRING ALL INDIANS TOGETHER!! If this is going to be more of a
significant political movement, bring all groups of Indian together.
5. DIVIDED WE FALL. In school, we learned one thing, sticks bunched
together, you can't break them.
6. The Malays stick together. When the chips are down, they stick
together.
7. You want to start a Tamil group, I doubt the Malay Govt. is going
to stop you, because the more splintered you are, the better for them.
8. DO NOT RESORT TO VIOLENCE OR DESTRUCTION. This only plays into
the Malay activists hands.
9. FOLLOW THE LAW. If we break the law, what good is it for us in
the future. Granted most or all of the judges now that you see in
the legal system are hard core Malay fundamentalist who will always
rule against non-Malays.
10. PATIENCE. This may take years. Samy Vellu might be dead by
then. Young people in this group have to take it forward.
Footnote:
------------
1. UMNO is a minority in Sabah, yet they rule Sabah.
2. They have been building Islamic schools in all rural areas of
Sabah. Converting people.
3. Sabah is a place where you find Pakistani Islamic clerics
traveling around teaching and converting people.
5. They federal govt. had cut off funding to any agency that does
not follow. When PBS was in power, there were no beds in the
hospital, no medicine, schools were not built or repaired, roads
didn't exist, the federal govt. choked Sabah economically. There was
no growth to speak off. This was when Mahathir was the PM!
4. If one thinks UMNO does not have a strategy to convert, to bring
people to their side, to destroy opposition by any means, that
includes violence, think again!
6. UMNO does not believe in democracy, if they did, we would have
equal rights.
7. Sabah was 1 of 3 states that WAS run by the opposition in the
80s. But extraordinary measures were taken to change only Sabah, and
not the other 2 states. Was it because Sabah was the only one where
the majority were Christians?
------------
Unfortunately for us, it is easy for us to convert to Islam which is
a good religion. But I doubt we can change our culture or stop being
Indian Malaysians.
An Exported Malaysian Indian Hindu.
I don't mean to preach here but just had to unload!
