Jennifer, only you can answer that. I would say yes, it's possible, as I know at one time I thought it was happening to me and I blamed it on 'him'. I allowed his actions to frustrate me almost beyond insanity.. I suppose *I became a bit insane or I would have had the sanity to withdraw from the situation. I allowed him to continue as long as I did because, like every woman who has loved a man and honors her vows of until death do us part, or has children who she thinks should have a father figure if possible, will hang on as long as possible. And the strain of those years can, in my opinion, effect ones emotional stability.
Webster's dictionary defines insanity as a deranged state of mind or lack of understanding
In situations where one has been abused in any way, one can be come deranged because of a lack of understanding ...understanding that they JUST DON'T HAVE TO TAKE IT ANY MORE. When that point arrives, one must "wash their hands of the situation," so to speak and absolve themselves of any guilt for using her newly found reasoning powers, knowing that she went the extra mile and deserves a better life for her ad her family..
In my opinion.
Love and GWG. Lee
